Ölüdeniz Paragliding: What to Know Before You Fly
Gliding from Babadağ down to the Blue Lagoon is one of the highlights of any Fethiye holiday. Here is everything you want to know before your first flight.
Ölüdeniz is one of the world’s best-known paragliding spots. Take-offs are from the slopes of Babadağ, and during the flight you see Ölüdeniz, Butterfly Valley and the Blue Lagoon from above.
Do I need experience?
No. Flights are tandem: you are harnessed to an experienced pilot who is in full control. All you do is take a few running steps at take-off and enjoy the view.
How long is the flight?
Depending on the conditions, flights usually last 20–40 minutes. With hotel pick-up, the drive up Babadağ and preparation, the whole experience takes a few hours.
What should I wear?
- Comfortable closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or sandals)
- A light layer — it can be cooler at the top
- Sunglasses and a strap or case for your phone
What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If the wind is not suitable, the flight is postponed and we offer you another time or day.
